Fatman Scoop has passed away following a medical emergency that occurred on stage in Hamden.

 HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Rapper Isaac Freeman III, known professionally as Fatman Scoop, has died at the age of 53, his tour manager has confirmed.

Fatman Scoop experienced a medical emergency while performing at Hamden Town Center Park and was taken to the hospital, as reported by Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett.

Fatman Scoop’s tour manager, Birch Michael, shared on Facebook:

“It is with immense sadness that I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, known professionally as Fatman Scoop. You have shaped me into the person I am today. I love you, Scoop. Thank you for everything. Rest in peace.”

Isaac Freeman, who performed under the stage name Fatman Scoop, was part of the Hamden Arts Commission Free Summer Concert Series at the time of his medical emergency. Details about the incident have not yet been disclosed.
